I don't want to lose all my confidence and go down in a hail of self-loathing - but I NEED TO KNOW. What will happen to me in other people's perception when I get these braces? Feel free to share your own experiences in comments.

My boyfriend's got the weirdest teeth I've ever seen in my life and I actually fancy him all the more because of it ;) I think braces have the potential to be pretty cute. Remember a few years ago when someone from S Club had 'em and everyone decided they were a fashion accessory or something?
Unfortunately, my own personal affliction of acne vulgaris (not even special acne) will NEVER be fashionable.

i think they're cool...and anyway, they might not even be that noticable (like Kip in Napolean Dynamite..didnt even realise he had braces, till i read he'd had them fitted especially for the movie)

I actually really like interesting teeth and braces are cute. They are kind of like... freckles are to faces as braces are to teeth. I don't really know why, but that's just how it is.

weird teeth are listed as a turn on for me on one of my old band's web sites. seriously, teeth are one of my turn ons but maybe i'm weird i dont know. i've also never had to have braces so i've been lucky.

Mira! My surgery buddy! I love braces! I always wanted braces as a wee lad but I never could afford them until now, then it turned out I needed surgery and that turned out well.

I have had my braces for two years and my surgery turned out well, but come on, I look so much younger than my 21 yrs with them. I like to fool people and tell them I'm seventeen when I'm not! (well no! but I could) I think my braces are cute and I know I am so used to them now that it'll be so weird when I don't have them anymore. Anyway, Here is a picture of me "post op"
