I had jaw surgery. I recommend eating a lot of bread now, before it feels like biting into a brick.

When did you have it and why? How long did it take you to get better?

When I was 15, an x-ray revealed a cyst in my jawbone. It had to be removed and the bone grew back (believe it or not) and filled the hole. It took about 10 days.

Now, I don't know exactly what you're having done, but I used to have a friend who had an extremely excessive underbite, so they cut out the middle of his jaw as though removing a leaf from a dining table. It took about 2-3 months for him to recover. He looked better, but his voice altered enough where I didn't recognize him on the phone.

Any risk of it altering your singing voice?

Not sure..its the lower jaw thats being worked on, I'll for sure have a different bite. I hope I recover fast and that I sound normal. Worst case scenario = lisp for life, weird looking face AND a weird voice. Erk
