Last night I took in an awesome Sloan show with [livejournal.com profile] takemeoutonight, [livejournal.com profile] thewuzz and The Lasermonkey. I am really sick still, so I didn't drink, but the show was so much fun I was bouncing around and squealing and getting my groove on anyways..I was high on the muuuusic man! ;)

My main weakness in life, is harmonies as anyone who has ever tried to capture me for medical research will know...Sloan harmonies are sweet and travel the WHOLE way up your spine and wrap themselves around your neck. Delicious!

It was great to see Suzy & Mark, (Mar recognised Suzy from us being all over each other's LiveJournals!), we're planning the next show we can go to together, I'm definately gonna try to swing tickets to the Death Cab For Cutie Oxford gig (and also maybe their Paris show so I get to hang with [livejournal.com profile] chloe_egg) but I am deliberately seeking out bands to go see that I know Suzy & Mark will dig too. Kinda geeky of me to want to hang out with my parents so much I know, but hey!

So, after the show, Mar and I hung out with her friend Jay* from the band for a long time. He's very funny and friendly and cool, and knowing the calibre of Mar's friends I was pleasantly surprised (KIDDING!) - anyways, it was a wonderful evening. :)

Last night I was hacking and coughing til 5am so I called work to beg an extra couple hours in bed. Press day today! They were Ok with that, and I was feeling really sick and a little low, until I went HERE! and listened to the funniest song I've ever heard, it's called Watch The Walrus. Go listen. You won't be disappointed :)

Yours in ill health,

Mangatrina xxx

*Jay used to wear braces and now has WONDERFUL beautiful teefs...yeep! Gotta love meeting a braces buddy!

Posies in Cambridge last night thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lilblackcat who from now on I worship as a Goddess for this. Boy did they rock.

They were quite drunk, which was so charming as they played some Posies greats and then rattled through some surreal covers ranging from Prince to Oasis to the Pet Shop Boys.

Ken called out at me twice thru the set
"Hey is the Soap Lady here?!" he shouted.
That actually sounds a bit pervy if you didn't know I am the royal appointed soap procurer to the Auer family.

At one point the band had all swapped instruments leaving Darius bereft of drumkit and wandering around the stage. He found a microphone and stood there calling "What the fuck is going on?! What the fuck is going on!"

The last song, You Are The Cosmos, Darius calls the entire audience onto the stage, and the band serenade us all. Funniest thing - Jamie my friend was visiting the mens room and arrived back to an empty hall and EVERYONE on stage. His face was a picture.

I <3 The Posies!

Paris anyone!?

PS For pictures by Suzy who follows them EVERYWHERE go here, you can see me in this one looking side on gooey eyed.
